Dis-Card

Dis.Card is an augmented reality exhibition created from found/collected discarded spaces and objects in Detroit and brought to life through digital adaptive reuse and projected onto a physical space with a hand-held device. The digital asset and the physical space are mapped onto postcards to preserve them as 3D Detroit collectables for participants to take back with them. Through an interactive process of asset collection, remapping and public participation we have created an augmented reality exhibition in a public space that celebrates these discarded assets and allows them to live in perpetuity in the augmented realm.

Here's how it works:

Find the graffiti piece at The Ride-It Sculpture Park, which is shown on the back of your postcard. Once you’re there, point your phone at the QR code on the postcard and follow the directional prompts. Once it starts scanning, point your phone at the graffiti piece or the back of your card to experience your very own collectable Detroit asset.

Dis.Card was created by a pop-up office Asset Management during a week-long symposium called Acts of Urbanism in Detroit. responsible and equitable world.
